Music

Life is worship. In Romans 12, Paul talks about offering ourselves wholly to God as an act of worship – giving all we are in honor and submission as a gift to the Creator. This act, this gift, is all encompassing. It includes the way that we interact with our families, friends, and strangers. It includes the way we see the world in which we live, our response to truth and beauty, and the thoughts which direct every action we take. All these things can and should be an act of worship.
Worship is life. While we understand the truth that all of what we are and do individually is an act of worship, we also recognize that there is value in Christ’s followers gathering together for the common purpose of loving God as one body. When we come together as a family, we connect with each other and with the Creator. We are privileged to sing, pray, read the scripture, reflect, listen, and engage with the One True God together. We are challenged to live a life of worship as we seek to follow Christ, and we are reminded that we are not in this alone.
At Bradfordville First Baptist, we have numerous teams that exist to help us as we seek to worship together. We would like to invite you to come and participate with many others who have discovered the joy of serving on these teams. For more information please take the time to contact one of our Worship and Music Ministry staff.
Worship Team
This team of passionate musicians leads worship through music for our Contemporary worship service on Sunday mornings at 8:30. Vocalists, drums, bass, guitars and other instruments help our congregation to engage God through music each week. For more information contact Ryan Whitfield (rwhitfield@b-fbc.org).
Youth Band
Our Youth Band leads the music during our youth worship times each Wednesday evening. Using modern musical styles and hearts that seek God, these students help our youth group engage God through music. Rehearsals are on Wednesday afternoons. For more information contact Ryan Whitfield (rwhitfield@b-fbc.org).
Sanctuary Choir
Bradfordville’s Sanctuary Choir is a team of passionate people who love to exalt and magnify God with their voices. As lead worshippers in our 11:00 Sanctuary Worship service each Sunday, our Sanctuary Choir desires to help people encounter the transforming love of Jesus through their ministry. Another part of their ministry is the annual Singing Christmas Tree which has become a Tallahassee tradition. Auditions are not required and rehearsals are each Wednesday evening @ 6:30 . For more information contact Eddie Lockamy (elockamy@b-fbc.org).
Preschool and Children’s Music
At Bradfordville, our children’s music leadership team helps preschoolers and children to not only appreciate music, but also to discover their own unique musical skills. Kids will experience a variety of activities that will provide opportunity to worship God, as well as prepare for the presentation of a children’s musical in May. We have a fully graded music program for children 4 years old through 5th grade. Rehearsals are each Wednesday (January-May) @ 6:00. For more information contact Eddie Lockamy (elockamy@b-fbc.org).
Handbells
The Handbell Ministry at B-FBC provides a unique place for adults to participate individually in musical and spiritual growth. They seek to glorify God as they ring praise offerings in our church and as an outreach in our community. For more information contact Faye Lockamy (eddieandfaye@comcast.net).
Technical Crew
Our technical crew is a team of dedicated men and women who are willing to be a part of the behind the scenes work involved in our worship gatherings. These folks work hard every week to run our sound system, video system, and lighting. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to be a part of this team. Hands on training is provided and willing servants are always needed. For more information contact Ryan Whitfield (rwhitfield@b-fbc.org).
